Help:Namespaces

Namespaces are a way to categorize articles at a very high level. These namespaces are displayed as prefixes in the article's title. This article, e.g., has a leading "Help:", which means it's in the Help-namespace.

Okay, namespaces... it's all a little fuzzy in theory, right? Here's what you need to know:

• A wiki uses namespaces to sort stuff. For example, all help pages (like this one) are in a separate namespace called "Help" (you saw this coming, didn't you?).
• To keep things in order, the Cyradon Wiki also needed a namespace for official stuff that the wiki users should be able to see, but shouldn't change. This happens in the namespace "Ironcrown".
• Also, we didn't want the wiki to fragment Cyradon. Zombies in the article on underground Belynar, giants in the one about the Coliseum... no good. So, the articles in the main namespace (the one without a prefix) are meant to be compatible for all GMs and players. Still, all these silly, funny, strange and exotic ideas shouldn't be lost - we want these ideas. But we put it somewhere else. Guess what: We put it in an extra namespace called "Idea:". In the common articles, you can put a link to your idea under the section "Story Ideas" or "Adventure Seeds", but you flesh everything out in your own article.
